Travel between schools is required, mileage is paid.The job of Lunchroom Worker (Level II) is done for the purpose/s of overseeing operations of Satellite Programs, preparing and distributing food items for consumption by students and school personnel, maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition, and complying with mandated health requirements. This job reports to Director of Food Services.Essential FunctionsOperating "Point of Sale" computer system, customer promotions, food inventory tracking and maintenance, all aspects of of customer service and communication.Assists in the preparation of menu items under the direction of the Head Cook for the purpose of meeting projected meal requirements.Assists with physical inventories, food storage, and record keeping for the purpose of verifying stock, identifying losses and providing documentation.Bakes rolls, cookies, cakes, brownies, etc. for the purpose of providing food items for students and staff.Prepares a variety of documents (e.g. meal counts, inventory reports, etc.) for the purpose of providing documentation and/or conveying information to meet state and federal requirements.Responds to inquiries of students and staff for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as appropriate.Tests prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature for the purpose of ensuring the acceptance of items by students and staff.Verifies food deliveries (quantity and date) for the purpose of assisting in storing items in freezer and storeroom.Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesSKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; preparing and maintaining accurate records; utilizing industrial grade food service equipment; and using pertinent software applications.KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: methods of quantity cooking; and food safe handling procedures.ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods.
