Humana Project Manager 2 in Aberdeen, South Dakota

Description

The Project Manager 2 manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager 2 designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project. Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Five or more years prior Project Management experience

  • Must provide example of size, scope, and budget of previous PM experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage virtual, cross-discipline teams - Example: encompassing Business, IT, Operations, Legal, Compliance, etc.

  • Intermediate level Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Word, Power Point and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Additional Requirements:

Work Style: Remote Work at Home

Location: United States - **Office space available if preferred not to work remotely

Remote work at home requirements:

  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role).

  • A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

Hours: Must beable to work an hour shift between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 PM Eastern Time

‚Äč Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated program and/or portfolio management skills

  • Familiar with Humana's project lifecycle, enterprise quarterly release schedule, phase gates, standard deliverables, etc.

  • Health Insurance Industry background

  • Experience with Specialty products and processes

  • Familiar with MS Project, Azure, or equivalent

  • Familiar with Waterfall and Agile methods and able to work freely between them
