Daktronics Production Assembler in Brookings, South Dakota

Responsibilities

Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

A Production Assembler will work as part of a team to assemble different variations of electronic display systems (scoreboards, video displays, roadside). Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing methodology.

  • Leverage written and verbal guidance to:

  • perform the modular and technical construction of displays.

  • interpret work instructions and technical drawings.

  • safely operate hand tools.

  • Successfully work in a team environment.

  • Learn Daktronics products, systems, and processes and produce product in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.

  • Ability to work overtime as scheduled and/or flexibility to work in other departments when needed.

  • Follow company policies and procedures.

  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Required items are safety glasses, safety shoes/boots. Some areas may require hearing protection and electrostatic discharge wear.

  • Complete other duties as assigned to meet customer needs.

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate hand tools.

  • Ability to work around odors, including solder; paint; solvent; or general manufacturing odor.

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry of up to 35 lbs. In some areas, the ability occasionally to frequently lift and carry up to 45 lbs.

  • The ability to stand for the full 10-hour shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2 hours to 3 ½ hours depending on the work area.

  • Must have steady hand-eye coordination in order to manipulate and place small components.

  • The ability to work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.

  • The ability to reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.

  • Fluent in English; both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to communicate in a team environment. Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.

  • Regularly and reliably work the scheduled shift. Must have the ability to work overtime on Friday(s) when scheduled.
