Philip Health Services Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) in Philip, South Dakota

CNA's provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.i A Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may delegate selected nursing tasks to UAP's.i CNA's are UAP's who have completed specific required training and testing and are listed on the South Dakota Board of Nursing Certified Nurse Aide Registry.i Philip Health Services has UAP's that work in Assisted Living and the Nursing Home.i All employees should display a caring and courteous attitude and represent Philip Health Services (PHS) in a positive manner to all customers, fellow staff members, and the community.i Employees should be able to utilize effective communication with other employees, department managers, and the Administrator to maintain flexibility to optimize individual and organizational operations.i Employees should also understand and be in compliance with the most current confidentiality agreement provided by PHS and be willing to perform other duties as directed.Prepare, administer and document medication administration in accordance with regulations and under the supervision of a licensed nurse.iCommunicate with the Pharmacy in relation to medication refills that are needed.Responsible for monitoring and reporting to charge nurse any changes in resident condition.Communicate with patients to ascertain feelings or need for assistance or social and emotional support.Assist in cleaning, sanitization of work area, all equipment used by residents or staff and medication cart.Perform safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
