Responsibilities
Project
The Department of the Navy (DON), Naval Information Warfare Systems Command
(NAVWAR) Headquarter (HQ), Comptroller Directorate (Code 1.0) is responsible for the core comptroller functions for NAVWAR HQ; Program Executive Office (PEO); Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I); PEO-Enterprise Information Systems (EIS); PEO SPACE; Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD); Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC); and NAVWAR Space Field Activity. The Comptroller functions include but are not limited to: managing and administering Travel, Payroll, Vendor Pay, Funds Control, Dormant Accounts Review – Quarterly (DARQ), General Ledger, and Budget Execution
The Senior Financial Analyst supports NAVWAR 1.0’s process of commitment, obligation, manual funds validation, Other Customer Funds, Foreign Military Sales, Multifunctional
Information Distribution System, and reimbursable billings. The Branch is responsible for ensuring that the fund balances are appropriately recorded in the official accounting systems, meet financial compliance and audit standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performing Funds Control functions to include processing various types of funding instruments and obligating documents
Monitoring and validating Dormant Account Review – Quarterly (DARQ) requirements
Supporting the management of the Reimbursable Work Order (RWO) policy implementation and sustainment
Participating in Mock and Year End Close efforts
Providing support services for the General Accounting functions
Support efforts resulting from audit requirements
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree (required) from an accredited College or University.
Must currently have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance (required).
Must be able to commute to an office in San Diego, CA.
Desired
Five (5) years of experience with financial management principles and familiarity with financial management terms, processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategic goals.
Experience in performing independent analysis and problem solving.
Experience in being a Team Lead or senior member of the team.
Experience with Microsoft Office products (MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Access).
