Role Summary/Purpose
The Installation Technician is responsible for ensuring that General Electric (GE) turbines are constructed per approved procedures and are authorized to act in an advisory capacity to GE’s construction contractors to ensure proper installation for all components prior to turbine hand over to the commissioning lead.
Essential Function
Verify that the work is completed in compliance with customer’s requirements
Document all work performed
Follow all assigned Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
Supervise the construction of wind turbines
Perform installation inspection of completed turbines
Repair defects
Report policy or procedure violation
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
Submit progress reports
Liaise with internal and external customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications /Requirements
Technical degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical discipline or
Equivalent of 2+ years’ experience in the field
Must have a valid driver’s license
Desired Characteristics
Trainee level. Trial position to ensure a good fit for the company – attitude, skills, ambition
Basic skills training to ensure knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a praticular field of specialization.
Operate tools, equipment, instruments
Torqing towers, aligning generators, pulling pucks using torque, slam, and large wrenches.
Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
Cleaning and lubricating on maintenance.
Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Motor vehicle operation to and from turbines, shop, and multiple sites.

Computer proficient
