The Office Assistant maintains office operations by completing administrative tasks (creating files, database entries, unloading equipment orders) receiving and distributing communications (telephone, email, mail), maintaining supplies and equipment, and serving consumers.

Essential Functions

  • Supports TED and CS Specialists in maintaining CSD programs including maintaining files and database entries, making follow-up calls,

  • Provides exceptional customer service to visitors as well as outside points of contact

  • Maintains building security by managing office keys and ensuring that public doors are accessible during regular business hours

  • Oversees office custodial services

  • Maintains office supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating requirements, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, stocking items, and delivering supplies to work stations

  • Provides staff support by preparing bulk mailings, sending and receiving faxes and e-mails, and distributes/sorts mail

  • Serves as primary building point of contact for the office and provides Director with updates, as necessary, on issues affecting the office

  • Maintains equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting failures, calling for repairs, and monitoring equipment operation


  • High School diploma/GED

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience providing administrative support in an office environment

  • Proficient signed communication skills
