Synchrony VP, Enterprise Logging - Platform Lead in RAPID CITY, South Dakota

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose

The Platform lead will provide enterprise application vision, design and architecture of solutions for enterprise logging platform, development at Synchrony Bank (SYF). This individual will also be responsible for leading and owning enterprise platform, modernize software development and product delivery through rapid innovation, continuous integration and delivery. This individual will provide technical leadership, mentorship and support to other engineers and developers at Synchrony.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Lead efforts to implement enterprise logging platform and evolve the architecture of the Elastic Stack roadmap.

  • Understand and enhance user experience for each of the ELK stack use cases and develop features to support enterprise logging capabilities.

  • Collaborating with the Cloud and Solutions leads to align priorities and roadmaps, and make appropriate technology choices and compromises

  • Reviewing and approving implementation designs for the Stack

  • Communicating and evangelizing the roadmap internally and with the users

  • Advising leadership team on emerging and important industry technology trends

  • Design and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery processes, fostering a culture of continuous process improvement

  • Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the organization.

  • Perform Technology Alternate Assessment, create Proof-of-Concept (as necessary), provide guidance and direction to project teams to ensure compliance with the standards and best practices.

  • Lead design workshops and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of the platform, collaborate with internal technical resources and third party vendors to resolve issues.

  • Work with team members to design, architect and implement solutions across geographic locations

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 8 years of experience in Information Technology OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology in a hands on technical role

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading software development using the Elastic Stack products

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working on leading development and managing large Enterprise teams.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working on or leading teams performing systems development and integration in an agile methodology (Scaled Agile Framework) preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, and/or other Continuous Integration tools

Desired Characteristics

  • Recent experience with design, implementation of large scale logging platforms elastic stack, ELK, Amazon elasticsearch and other log management solutions

  • Experience with a PaaS product offerings like Elasticsearch, AWS or Azure is a big plus

  • Experience working with SAML, oAuth 2, Active Directory and network protocols

  • Solid communication skills, with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills. Must be highly motivated and demonstrate high level of initiative.

  • Must be a self-starter, ability to quickly learn, adapt, shows initiative and thinks outside the box.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
