New grads welcome to apply! This position offers daytime hours, no holidays, weekends, or call while still giving you the opportunity to provide service to patients and athletes.

This is a certified athletic trainer position, working directly with ortho patients, walk-ins & outpatient rehab patients that require bracing for injury recovery. Hours 8:30-5:30 Monday - Friday, every third Friday off with 7:30-6 Monday -Thursday.

Job Summary

This role will support customers with orthopedic-related injuries, providing assistive technology to prevent further damage, restore function and reach maximum level of independence post injury.

This employee is directly involved in the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) process for our orthopedic patients by working directly with our orthopedic staff to assist patients in their recovery process through the use of DME.

This employee will also gain advanced knowledge of bracing and related orthopedic supplies in order to better benefit our patients. Perform donning and doffing of bracing for patients and instruct them on proper technique. Answer any and all questions that lie within our scope of practice. Collaborate with the ordering physician to recommend the appropriate treatment device, utilizing education and training background for a scientific approach to care planning. Follow the customer input process to qualify the customer and obtain all necessary information to process orders accurately and efficiently. Become knowledgeable on all orthopedic specialty service lines and insurance coverage of those products.

Work with physician referral sources to research, recommend and market new treatment devices that benefit the customer base. Measure and appropriately fit device to the customer. Assess the features of device(s) and alternative options as necessary.

Educate about ongoing care and treatment. Build the customer account with required data, including customer profile and financial information. Obtain documentation and prior authorizations for insurance coverage.

Monitor and maintain inventory to assure availability for customers, the obsolescence of equipment and expiration of supplies.

Assess features, facilities, pricing alternatives and distribution options. Explain different product features to different customers as appropriate to their needs.

May be required to travel to home or other locations to educate customers on products. May be asked to work on-call hours depending on location and when applicable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Must be certified by the Athletic Training Board of Certification (BOC) and hold valid driver's license. Required to complete 50 hours of continuing education every two years.
