JOB PURPOSE:

Develop and execute strategies with the support of a cross function team and last mile partner carriers that will increase the company’s sales revenue. Utilize industry and

technical knowledge to ensure all off-net services are delivered on time, according to technical specifications and at a fair market price.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Submit requests for pricing to partner carriers and relay information to sales via CRM for inclusion in customer proposals.

  • Be the team’s subject matter expert of market rates and negotiate rates accordingly to increase win percentage of new off-net locations, as well as continually monitor embeddedbase of services for optimization and cost reduction.

  • Manage all contracting activities with partner carriers providing last mile service to Midco customers, including but not limited to renewing contracts in a timely fashionand ensuring all current contracts are stored in an easily accessible place.

  • Maintain vendor escalation/contact records so Midco knows who to contact as the partner carrier with questions regarding provisioning, maintenance, billing, etc.

  • Proactively identify new preferred partner carrier relationships that align with the company’s strategy, and maintain existing relationships, by staying in constant communicationwith key points of contact and attending important trade shows.

  • Manage partner carrier relationships and performance through the implementation of a Carrier Report Card that grades carriers on performance, service and pricing.

  • Proactively audit and maintain Midco’s list of preferred carriers by geographic region and perform quarterly updates to each carrier’s list of serviceable addresses to provideeasy access to other internal departments and teams.

  • Maintain Midco’s off-net circuit ID database to ensure accuracy.

  • Manage requests for disconnect from Midco customers that have services being provided by a partner carrier, as well as proactively pursue disconnection of off-net circuitsin the event that Midco builds to the location in question.

  • Communicate all disconnects to appropriate internal and external parties, update databases, and manage all logistics of the actual disconnect.

  • Develop fulfillment strategies for off-net services that span all internal departments involved with an off-net circuit.

  • Review and approve all invoices for off-net services from partner carriers, ensure statements match contract terms.

  • Lead efforts to research and resolve issues/concerns with partner carriers as the lead point of contact.

  • Monitor and follow through to ensure resolution of chronic support issues with partner carriers and addresses problems regarding compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Participate in team efforts to support customer satisfaction and team goals.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.

  • Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.

  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 year’s telecommunications experience required

  • Familiarity with nationwide telecommunications providers (ILECs & CLECs).

  • Familiarity with elements of circuit design and components (UNI, EVCs, cross connects, NNI, channel terminations, etc.)

  • Basic comprehension of the Internet and data network design (private-line interfaces, handoff, etc.)

  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, speaking, listening), organizational, business, and computer skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 30 lbs.

  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
