Cloud Services Intern
KBR , in support of the Landsat mission at EROS , is seeking intern candidates to work on projects utilizing Cloud Services . Candidate must have competed courses in design, architecture and development of software solutions. Candidate should have working knowledge of cloud infrastructures. Candidate will support Federal Government clients in their cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain their computing capabilities across their technical landscape. The successful candidate will be joining a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment where they will be a key player with technical development responsibilities. A candidate for this position will be a self-starter who values their work and that of their team members. Candidate must be clearable for position of Public Trust.
The Cloud Services intern(s) will be assigned a mentor. The interns will telecommute from campus with travel to the EROS Center as their schedule permits and as the project requires. It is expected that the selected interns will work on site at EROS during school breaks, and/or during the summer months. This position holds potential for full-time employment upon graduation, pending project funding.
Essential Job Functions
Design and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, highly reliable and fault-tolerant systems
Select appropriate services to design and deploy an application based on the business requirements
Perform code development for assigned tasks
Participate in software development processes with quality assurance, version control and build processes
Ensure proper process is followed and documentation is properly maintained
Work with management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within areas of responsibility
Assist the project manager in preparing estimates and justification for assigned tasks
Occasional travel may be required
