JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with departmental associates and management. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics. Demonstrates a basic understanding of organizational project management practices and tools. Demonstrates the ability to speak, write and present clearly. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Identifies tasks or outputs that require accuracy and detail-level attention. Demonstrates an expectation that there will be ongoing shifts in demands and priorities. Demonstrates the ability to respond to change. Describes opportunities for taking initiative in the organization. Demonstrates an ability to meet own responsibilities.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

This individual will have the opportunity to help improve processes and create efficiencies, assist the Sourcing and Talent Acquisition teams with basic everyday needs to learn a wide variety of HR functions, and to be a resource for proactive work, such as a research project. Will be able to learn and engage in multiple areas of HR to provide a well-rounded, holistic experience. The intern will also conduct special projects specific to Human Resources.

Internship Responsibilities:

• Will conduct and complete a research project specific to Human Resources

o Research project examples: How to best engage passive candidates for recruitment? What are our direct competitors doing to recruit and retain employees – how can Sanford adapt? How to improve our metrics and reporting functionality?

• Will also learn tangible HR functions such as building talent pipelines, implementing digital and social media strategies, assessing candidate submissions, organizing and promoting job fairs and delivering superior customer service.

• Support the Talent Acquisition teams in recruiting activity and administration.

• Contribute positively to the organization, both individually and as part of a team

• Role will include 1-on-1 mentor sessions, committee involvement and department specific training and shadowing

Intern Qualifications:

• Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Human Development, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communication and Marketing or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
