Responsible for timely, accurate, and appropriate review of damaged and/or returned product to determine correct disposition of the product.
High School Diploma (Preferred)
Prior warehouse, distribution or retail experience preferred.
Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation in the conditions specified for 8 - 10 hour shifts. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Review damaged and/or returned product to determine the appropriate disposition of the product(s) in a timely manner. Move or otherwise handle cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and/or tobacco products and related products.
Sort/separate products that cannot be return to the regular inventory for transfer through the reclamation process (for destruction); package and/or wrap salvageable item and assign location.
Review and verify vendor credits and/or customer invoice adjustments for return products for accuracy.
Check code dating and labels on returned products, cross-reference UPC numbers to determine item codes, and record required inventory data (i.e., product, quantity, slot number, etc.) of return products, and ensure complete and accurate paperwork are attached with return products.
Work closely with Inventory Control to accurately maintain inventory of returned products.
May assist with unloading returned and/or damaged products out of trailers.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of pallet boards and other trash, etc. and ensuring any spills are cleaned up quickly and according to safety guidelines.
Operate power industrial equipment such as a double pallet jack, high-extender high-lift and other moving equipment (i.e., walkers).
Lift products weighing between 30-60 lbs. frequently and products weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally, while ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities
Must be able to follow verbal (oral) and written instructions. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required; ability to read and interpret product labels, invoices, UPC numbers, item codes etc. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented to process and verify returns. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse operation. Able to safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and other material handling/industrial equipment. Must follow safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies and practices. Ability to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g. freezer, coolers, dry conditions).
Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled. Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others. Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines. Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely. Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.

Must lift products weighing between 30-60 lbs. frequently; ability to lift products weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally with assistance as needed; product weight varies by assignment, distribution center products, etc.
While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and frequently exposed to changes in temperature and humidity (-20° to 105°). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
