Video and Animation Specialist
KBR is looking for a Video and Animation Specialist. This position is a part of the communications and outreach team and works with subject matter experts to create videos and data visualizations that promote the understanding of the EROS mission to internal and external audiences. The position will support multiple projects on the Technical Support Services Contract (TSSC) at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The position works with a variety of types of projects which requires creativity, collaboration, and a professional and enthusiastic attitude.
Design and produce technical media tools such as tutorial-style videos, 1-5 minute outreach videos for YouTube and other digital web channels
Create high quality data visualizations or non-text dominant video media for broadcast through USGS and NASA outreach channels
Apply new techniques, and eye-catching styles to video design and composition
Setting up microphones, recording audio-only interviews, working with stock music tracks, producing 10-20 minute podcast episodes
Education: Minimum two-year Degree in Video Production, Graphic Design or closely related disciplines
Experience: 2-5 years
DOI Work Location requirement: The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for facility access and user accounts.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Video, audio and animation production experience
Intermediate experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro
Comfortable with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps (After Effects, Audition, Animate, Illustrator)
Experience with, or an interest in Blender
Familiarity with video integration on social media platforms, common video sizes, functionality, trends, strategies.
Experience working with tiff data in Photoshop to color correct, edit, and maintain spatial attributes, geotiffs a bonus!
Capture raw video as needed
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office
Ability to work and communicate effectively with teammates, managers, and clients
Awareness of copyright licensing
Candidate must have prior 3 year U.S. residency
