SALARY RANGE: $77,250 - $100,470

Base salary is determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Be the energy partner of choice for key customers by cultivating and maintain a trusting, professional relationship through serving as the single point of contact that connects customers to energy solutions.

Definitions – Key Accounts have the following characteristics: significant load (as measured by demand), critical load (as measured by either nature or sensitivity load), growth potential, retention/bypass risk and sensitive/political.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Customer Solutions Regional Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Be the energy partner of choice for key account customers by developing and maintain a trusting, professional relationship through serving as the single point of contact that connects customers to energy solutions.

  • Be an energy partner (seat at the table) for the customer segments by providing support and analysis and coordinating across business segments and external partners to connect customers to individualized energy solutions, company programs (EE/DSM, etc.) and potential external partner solutions. Support development of new regulated and non-regulated energy solutions by gaining a thorough understanding of customer business drivers and needs.

  • Improve the customer’s experience through increased and detailed communications, keeping them abreast of changes in rates, riders and anything pertaining to their account, including high bill complaints, deposit review, bill arrangements and energy efficiency. Team with corporate customer service functions, operations, community affairs, engineering, legal and others to resolve customer problems.

  • Maintain current knowledge of tariff rates and regulations and help identify challenges and opportunities of rate design and other regulatory practices.

  • Be a champion for growth with field personnel and through participation in business unit growth teams and subsequent projects.

  • Continually surveil for new growth opportunities through expansions to new customers/markets, acquisitions, and new solution offerings. (economic development)

  • Maintain up-to-date database of key customers.

  • Track and report results.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a member of coordinated teams at the business segment, group and corporate level, as needed.

  • Partner and coordinate with National Accounts Manager as required.

  • Partner with the Energy Efficiency Program Manager and remain informed of programs offered for the purpose of educating and promoting the programs and assisting customers with solutions.

  • Awareness and understanding of all regulatory complaints and ensure that in each case, learn from the customer and apply those learnings to all key accounts.

  • Ability to negotiate and mitigate risk related to business development agreements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Key customers.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 or more years of experience in a regulated utility environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • 5 or more years of experience in business development or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing or related area preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of electric and/or natural gas quality terminology and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of energy policy, national and local building codes.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices for delivering sustainable energy products and services.
