CROOK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #1 Computer Technician in Sundance, Wyoming

District Wide Computer TechnicianSUMMARYUnder the general supervision of the Technology Coordinator, the Computer Technician is responsible for maintaining the school district's computer and network equipment to allow optimal performance. To focus on meeting the ever changing technology needs of the district; troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software, and resolving computer operational problems that the building technology facilitators escalate. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week and starts at $20.35/Hour.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSThe Computer Technician reports to the Technology Coordinator.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInstalls and maintains computer operating systems, application software, and computer related equipment at various locations within the district.Performs computer and network hardware and software repair to include Chrome, iOS, and Windows.Creates and maintains E-Mail and user accounts on computers; configures E-Mail and security on computers utilizing Active Directory and G-Suite.Inspects computer and network equipment for the purpose of identifying and completing repair needs.Provides technical support to users of hardware and software.Supports users to enhance their ability to use district computer systems and new or existing software.Coordinates computer and network-related repair requests.Assists in record-keeping regarding the functioning and inventory of the school district's computers and related equipment, repairs, etc.Makes recommendations regarding the purchase of new computers, software, and related equipment.Understands System Administration including planning, implementing and supporting a variety of Microsoft servers and applications.Manages content filtering.Maintains Hyper-V environments, Active Directory administration, Windows deployment services, and system security. Installs server, workstation, and application updates following established procedures and guidelines.Researches and implements industry best practices.Manages Enterprise wireless system.Maintains district website.Other related tasks as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEBachelor of Computer Science or a related field Or a high school diploma with 3+ years experience in associated fieldCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSValid Driver License and clear driving record required.Low-voltage license or ability to obtain within a reasonable time-frame.SKILLSAbility and willingness to research and problem solve various issues involving hardware, software, security and industry best practices.Working knowledge of network infrastructure.Ability to repair various types of devices.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively prioritize issues and solutions.Takes initiative and demonstrates a high level of performance while maintaining strong attention to detail.Ability to work closely with and provide support for users of varying skill set levels and technology experience throughout the district.Willingness to work outside of scheduled hours and limited travel as needed.Ability to communicate well with staff, parents, and students while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies and statutes.Adept at creating and maintaining accurate documentation.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
