Terex Corporation Dock Load Specialist in Watertown, South Dakota
Position Overview
This position performs a variety of work related to movement of materials and finished goods, i.e. stack, load, unload, pull and put away materials in plant and yard. This position will be responsible for completing shipments by processing and loading orders. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Responsibilities

Responsible for moving, stocking, receiving, and packing outbound warehouse merchandise.
Operates warehouse equipment as needed to complete tasks
Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations
Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and order acknowledgment
Must have ability to properly crate and protect materials using hand and power tools, to include power saw, air stapler, and banding tools for domestic and export orders.
Check crating and pad protection; check carton seal and banding to insure travel quality.
Check off shipments and observe truck loading operations, bracing and securing of loads to insure safe arrival.
Work with R/P orders, shipping instructions and regulations.
Work under general supervision; instructions and guidance provided on procedural changes, new regulations, etc.
Have the knowledge to position all types of units or any given mix of units and bodies on a step deck or flatbed trailer.
Must have the knowledge and skills to transport large units around the plant and dock area in a safe and damage free manor.
Understand what types of fixtures to use for picking and moving each type of product
Understand DOT rules and regulations for transport of all types of loads on highways
Maintain clean work area and participate in 5s standards
Troubleshoot basic issues and problems
Flex into other areas and departments as needed
All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in material handling equipment operation
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience
Possess beginning to working knowledge of the subject matter
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to accurately read and understand tape measurements
Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as simple hand tools and hand-powered hydraulic material handling devices
Ability to perform in several areas and will be assigned to several if required
Must be certified to drive a forklift or have the skills to obtain certification and perform maintenance checks each use.
Must be certified to operate a crane or have the skills to obtain certification and perform maintenance checks each use.
Understand and demonstrate basic computer skills
Physical Requirements of the Job
Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:
10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling and lifting
40 to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance of machinery or others to move objects
Ability to stand on concrete for 10+ hours per shift
