Terex Corporation Factory Field Service Technician in Watertown, South Dakota

Position Description:

The factory field service technician will travel throughout the contiguous 48 United States contacting Terex customers to perform factory recommended modifications and repairs to Terex Utilities products. Primary function is to perform safety and product bulletins with a secondary function of special customer projects as they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Repairing equipment by traveling to the customer’s location.

  • Must have a clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass a physical and obtain a DOT medical card

  • Establish contact and setup repair appointments with customers as required.

  • Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have good customer service skills.

  • Manage the workflow to the schedule.

  • AWS D1.1 welding certified in all positions. (GMAW and FCAW certified)

  • Must be either certified or must become certified within 6 months of hire date.

  • Ensure the equipment worked on is in proper working condition and safe to return to service.

  • Conduct the work efficiently and safely.

  • Follow all Federal and State safe driving regulations.

  • Maintenance and care of their field service truck.

  • Maintain accurate work completion records and reporting.

THIS ROLE WILL SUPPORT THE MID-ATLANTIC PORTION OF THE US.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • 3 years’ experience advanced hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience

  • AWS D1.1 welding certified in all positions. (GMAW and FCAW certified) - Must be either certified or must become certified within 6 months of hire date.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as hydraulic and electrical schematics.

  • Must have the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

  • Post-secondary education in a related field.

  • Advanced hydraulics troubleshooting and repair experience

  • Background in Customer Service

  • Experience with utility-type equipment

  • Special projects as required

  • Must have a clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass a physical and obtain a DOT medical card

This is a typical field service work cycle involves being in the field for two consecutive weeks before returning to the home site for leave. Must be willing to work varied hours, including evenings as necessary to accommodate customer’s schedules.

Physical requirements include:

  • Able to climb ladders.

  • Lift 40#’s

  • Sometimes work over or under vehicles.

  • Special projects as required
