Terex Corporation Sr. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager - Manufacturing in Watertown, South Dakota
We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Manager to join our Health, Safety and Environmental Team. The successful candidate will lead a team of managers and coordinators in support of Terex' s HSE strategies, compliance and performance; this support includes training, budget management and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, collaboration, influencing and execution competencies as this role supports and interfaces with team members in many functional areas at all levels across multiple Terex sites (manufacturing, fabrication and 19 service locations). This Sr. Manager supports the Terex Utilities business in Watertown, SD. This position has a travel expectancy of 25%+.
About the team:
This team develops and administers policies and procedures that promote environmental protection and promote healthy and safe facilities for employees and visitors. They understand and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety. They inspect and audit facilities for potential environmental or safety concerns. They may be responsible for safe handling and proper disposal of hazardous materials or bio-waste. They investigate incidents or accidents and gather and analyzes statistics. They prepare and submit accident reports in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Develops and manages the HSE annual operating plan
Effectively communicate HSE strategy and objectives with Senior Leadership
Develops and manages the HSE budget, training, and compliance reporting
Develop and deploy an HSE Strategy that is designed to reduce injuries and ensure compliance with both the Terex HSE management systems and regulatory requirements at all locations
Partner with other HSE leaders at Terex to drive HSE compliance & performance at all Terex Utilities locations
Provide direction, oversight and guidance for all aspects of HSE at the related Utilities locations. This includes Terex Road Map implementation as well as locally appropriate HSE regulatory compliance
Design and implement effective metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern and drive accountability
Conduct regular HSE visits to the locations as per the agreed schedule. Site visits and ongoing support will be conducted in accordance with standard work
- BS degree in Engineering, HSE, with at least 7 years’ experience; in lieu of degree, candidates possessing 10+ years applicable HSE experience may be considered
Certified Safety Professional Designation
Experience working with a heavy equipment service organization, including field service
Technical expertise to perform detailed safety/hazard analysis
Experience leading project teams
Demonstrated leadership competencies
Experience planning and prioritizing work including down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions; staging activities with relevant milestones and schedules
Experience delivering training
